Jim Kelley: What do you think the greatest challenges or obstacles are to either your role or the city’s team in promoting and developing the city.

Marty Wieder: My challenges end up being having enough time each day to be able to do what I want to do simply because I feel like we’ve got a great opportunity. We don’t know how long that’s going to go. There’s been a lot of reasons to think it’s going to extend far even beyond maybe where we can see right now and that’s great if it does. But, I think that does mean now we’ve got to pedal as fast as we can to get all that we can started now in spite of whenever this cycle comes to an end. Still with the belief that there’s no other place I’d want to be when it does end than right here in Grand Prairie Texas in North Texas in the state of Texas and the United States than any other place in the world.

I think the biggest thing is going to be we’re not limited. You know we don’t view ourselves as being held back. And in particular there’s some real opportunity not only on 360 now that it’s been extended, but we’ve got a peninsula down on Lake Joe Pool that’s over a thousand acres that the city has a 99-year lease with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We want to see some type of major convention conference meeting center type development there. We would love to talk with anybody who’s got a history and a background and a desire to do something like that we would welcome up an audience and would come out there and show them the community.
